About Us
What is a Secret Supper Club?
Also know as an underground restaurant or underground dining,
these events are run in secret and provide an alternative to restaurant dining, and a wonderful social experience in someone else’s home. Supper clubs are huge in New York and the phenomenon has now spread across the Atlantic with some of the first people to open their homes in 2009; primarily in London but now spreading across the UK.
Based in South Manchester you will come to the home of Our Paleo Kitchen and dine at a table with seven other guests. You can expect the same service you would receive in a restaurant (if not better!) with the Our Paleo Kitchen team cooking and serving your food and topping up your drinks,
At Our Paleo Kitchen you will get a lovingly prepared home cooked meal for a reasonable price, and, as with most supperclubs you get to bring whatever you choose to drink.
The Food
At Our Paleo Kitchen we will only serve you locally sourced free range outdoor reared meat and sustainably caught fish. Depending on the time of year we will use vegetables from the Our Paleo Kitchen allotment, otherwise these will also be organic and locally sourced.
We will provide a four or five course menu which will hopefully prove to people that you can have a filling and tasty meal without the use of bread, flour, pasta potatoes and all other things non-paleo. At times we will use cuts of meat that are often overlooked that many people may not have tried before. Don’t let this put you off though, give them a try, as these unfashionable cuts of meat can often be the tastiest.
Given Lisa’s experience in the wine, she holds a WSET Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits, we will also be recommending wines that will go with each course of the meal. It is completely up to you whether you bring any of them along with you.
To cover our costs we have a suggested donation which is detailed on the events page.
Unfortunately at this stage we are unable to offer any vegetarian or vegan alternatives, if you have any other specific dietary requirements please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.
Who Are We?
Rich – I was once told by my old man that you have to eat to live so you may as well enjoy doing it. These words have stuck with me ever since and I try to enjoy and appreciate every meal I now eat. I hosted my first dinner party during my university years and have enjoyed doing them ever since. I may not be the most refined chef in the world, but most of my friends do not turn down the opportunity to come round for dinner so hopefully that says something about the food you will get to try at Our Paleo Kitchen.
Lisa – I have always been involved in cooking, as a child my mum used to do a lot of entertaining and I would sit on the work surface watching, tasting, and constantly asking questions. Although I was always cooking at home my practice really came in to force when I left for Uni. I was often found cooking a hearty meal for groups of friends before we headed out for the night. Most weekends Rich and I will often spend a day cooking in preparation for the week ahead. As he says above we’re not the most technical of chefs, so you will not find fancy espumas, jus or foams but you will find well cooked, great quality seasonal ingredients.

Are you guys planning another soon?
Hi Beth, thanks for the message. We are in the process of moving house and I am also 4 months pregnant so we have been a little pre-occupied of late. e do hope to do some more but we can’t commit to a date yet. Will keep you posted.
